Color Pairings
When combining different pieces in a layout, we use the combos shown here for consistency and legibility.
Solid Background
Over solid backgrounds, we prefer our iconic and recognizable colorways. These should be used for most communications.
Over photography, we default to using White type and White logos. In the case of photos with lighter backgrounds, our colored logo may provide better contrast—please use your best judgment for legibility.
Web Accessibility
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) establish standards to ensure the internet is accessible to everyone, including individuals with disabilities. Regarding color, these guidelines specify the necessary contrast between text and its background to ensure readability for users with visual impairments.
When selecting colors for the web, we strive to meet WCAG 2.0 standards for both large and standard text sizes. Large text is defined as 14pt (18.66px) in bold or 18pt (24px) in a lighter weight. Any text smaller than these thresholds is considered standard text.
Our goal is always to achieve a AAA rating—the highest level of compliance. Raw Green is not AAA compliant and should be avoided. Bellow you can find the contrast we use:
